Parent  INDOCTRINATION INFORMATION TOOLKIT
  1. How to Combat Wokeism – Three key tools for parents to combat wokeism as children go back to school (1. Protection of Pupil Rights, 2. FOIA and 3. Lawfare)
  2. Opt-Out of Data Mining/Surveys with an Opt-Out Form – Surveys collect personal and intimate information and include topics such as sex, drugs, alcohol, parental behavior, parent home-life and activities, violence, and suicide (Survey example). Parents are generally not notified of them and it’s unclear what happens with this data.  Surveys are not ethical and the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA) says students cannot be surveyed without parental consent. To opt your child out of surveys at your school submit this Opt Out Form to the head of school, head of division and advisors. Find out how surveys tie in overall into  SEL/Data Collection.
  3. Learn About and Understand the Dangers of Transformative Social Emotional (SEL)
    • SEL is considered CRT in sheep’s clothing; It includes invasive Surveys, changes to curriculum,  and looks at everything through an emotional or “social justice” lens
    • SEL programs are the “Latest Battleground in schools” and represent a fundamental shift in the role of teachers from educators to therapists and expand the reach of government into domains of the family. Also look into Social Justice and CRT being taught in our schools.
    • Transformative versions of SEL include CASEL, RULER (from Yale) and Pollyanna (which is more DEI) among others.  This new version of SEL is HIGHLY concerning and controversial because in theory it sounds like a good thing and when SEL was introduced many years ago it was (and some versions can continue to be) an important piece of educational practice.  However, the Transformative version has been modified to become manipulative.
  4. Learn About Concerns with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) – DEI represents “Woke” ideology and culture, looks at everything through a “social justice”/Power/Privilege lens and then focuses on the redistribution of power in an effort to foster equitable outcomes, focuses on being politically correct, teaches kids WHAT to think rather than HOW to think, stifles free inquiry and robust scholarly discussion, is a method to indoctrinate children, focuses less on academics and more on activism, can be seen to actually make students “feel less welcome and less safe” and can end up dividing, rather than uniting, a community. For more on DEI click here
  5. Review your Enrollment or Community Contract for your school closely.  Notice if there are any sections that are concerning that gives the school carte blanche to teach, share or change anything at any time without requiring approval from parents. Address your concerns with school leadership and ask them to make changes.
  6. Read Emails & Communications from School thoroughly as soon as you receive them.  Look for anything that concerns you and contact them to discuss.
  7. Empower your children with information – Speak with them often about what’s going on, get their opinions, share books that teach your family values  and provide them with a deeper understanding and perspective from what they’re learning in school via these online courses and  5 minute videos.
  8. See If Your School Is Trying to Indoctrinate – The organization Indoctrinate This will conduct a preliminary investigation which includes site crawling, checking district library, and preparing official documentation on your behalf to be sent to the school requesting information on the curriculum.

  • The Epoch Times – America’s fastest-growing independent news media and one of the largest news outlets in America. A truthful view of the world free from the influence of any government, corporation, or political party.
  • How to Empower Our Kids – “Any parent who doesn’t recognize that they’re on a battlefield, that their children are ground zero in this effort, is going to lose…Collectivists are trying to co-opt and change the minds of our children,” says Connor Boyack author of the Tuttle Twins Collection. “Give our kid a shield and a sword before we send them out into the intellectual battlefield. Give them a foundation of these ideas [so] that when they’re listening to their teacher or reading a textbook or looking at TikTok…they can evaluate those ideas, rather than just absorb them like a sponge,” Boyack says. The “Brave” Book Series by Kirk Cameron, Kevin Sorbo, Riley Gains and others is also a great one to consider (Also on Amazon.com).
  • Letters from Parents to Their School Boards – Consider speaking with and writing to your school boards.  Speak up and push back on radical agendas and curriculum like these other parents.  These parents did it and so can you!
